「插播一起重大消息,稍早我們得知昨日深夜在台北市與台北縣交界的中興橋上,發生了一起襲警事件。車輛行經橋上的檢查哨時,由於不明原因與憲警發生衝突。目前警方……滋……滋……大規模搜捕……滋……滋……呼籲民眾嚴格遵守宵禁規定,保持高度警覺。若有任何可疑情況,請務必立即聯繫當地警局。我們也會持續……滋……滋……。」
一九九六年.三月.台北。冷風刺骨的冬天暗暝,一个予逐家號作「盤車--ê」的運將先生,喙哺一支賰袂到吋半的薰頭,徙動伊已經[立在]咧遐誠久的身軀轉來車頂。突兀的是,一跤魚櫥仔竟然放佇咧副駕駛的位。內面彼尾紅龍魚,每展一擺魚翅,攏再再表現出伊佮淡水河彼款凊彩就釣會著的鱸魚,完全毋是仝階級的……。
〔中文〕一九九六年.三月.台北。寒風刺骨的冬夜,一個被大家稱作「puânn-tshia--ê」的計程車司機,嘴叼著所剩不多的菸頭,移動他早已僵在那許久的身軀回到車裡。突兀的是,一整個魚缸竟然就放在副駕駛座上。缸中的那尾紅龍魚,每擺動一下魚鰭,都再再顯現出他和淡水河裡那種隨隨便便就釣得到的鱸魚,完全不是同等級的……。
Radio Announcer: "Last midnight, a taxi was transporting a man into Taipei City. Due to the suspicious nature of the passenger, military police at a checkpoint on the Zhongxing Bridge approached to conduct a further inspection. However, during the frisking process, the passenger suddenly turned and rushed towards the edge of the bridge, eventually climbing over the railing and jumping into the river next to the Zhongxing Sandbar."
Radio Announcer: "Based on the personal belongings found in the taxi, the police suspect the man of engaging in espionage activities. The National Police Agency urges the public to remain vigilant and immediately contact the local police department if there are any suspicious circumstances..."
In March 1996, on a cold winter night in Taipei, the taxi driver known as "puânn-tshia--ê" returned to his car with an almost finished cigarette in his mouth. Strangely, a fish tank was placed on the passenger seat. The Asian Arowana inside moved the fins, and its beauty was totally incomparable to the bass caught in the Tamsui River...

創作源起 Origin of Creation
上世紀九〇年代,台灣的社會氛圍發生劇烈變化。無論是政治上的寧靜革命;文化上的電影新浪潮和獨立音樂;現實中的重大治安事件,都一再標誌著那個「狂飆」的年代。而狂飆下難免會有些落後的人,於是我便圍繞在計程車司機這個職業去發想劇本。
In the 1990s, Taiwan underwent dramatic social changes. The political turbulence, the cultural movements like the Taiwan New Cinema and independent music, and the major crime incidents constantly reminded us that it was a "whirlwind" era. In the midst of this era, there were inevitably some who were left behind. This inspired me to develop a script centered around the profession of taxi drivers.

時代背景 Setting
西元 1995、1996 年,第三次台海危機爆發,對岸進行大規模登陸與飛彈演習。與現實走向不同,政府宣布戒嚴、實施宵禁,整個社會瀰漫著肅殺的氛圍。解放軍可能登陸桃園海岸、台北港、八里、淡水一帶,並沿快速道路直取政經中樞。為防止第五縱隊(特種部隊滲透),軍方頒布緊急管制措施:封橋檢查、首都衛戍區(博愛特區)最高級別警戒。
In 1995 and 1996, the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis erupted, with China conducting large-scale landing operations and missile exercises. Unlike in reality, the government declared martial law and imposed a curfew, creating a pervasive atmosphere of fear and tension across society. The Chinese People's Liberation Army was expected to land along the Taoyuan coast, Taipei Port, Bali, and Tamsui areas, with plans to advance directly toward the political and economic centers via major roads. To prevent infiltration by special forces, the military issued emergency control measures, including bridge closures, inspections, and the highest level of alert in the capital's garrison area.

Taxi Driver's Route
After 1988, all toll booths on bridges were removed. From 1991 to 1996, Taipei Bridge was under reconstruction, so the driver chose to take Zhongxing Bridge to reach Minquan East Road (Aquarium Street).
角色設定 Characters Background
七、八〇年代台商大舉西進。獨留台灣的小組長,轉行投入計程車業,透過以往的人脈接了一件「特殊工作」。接近午夜時分的港區,這名「特殊乘客」上岸轉乘計程車,交給台號叫「盤車--ê」的司機主角。
In the 1970s and 1980s, many factories relocated to China. The protagonist, a low-ranking manager who stayed behind in Taiwan, later switched careers to become a taxi driver. Through his former connections, he took on a "special job." Near midnight at the harbor, a "special passenger" disembarks and takes a taxi driven by the protagonist, who is nicknamed "Puann-tshia--ê."

固定視角鏡頭
觀眾的視角被限定在副駕駛座上。僅能透過司機的對白、肢體動作、窗外景象,和廣播電台的新聞播報,了解一件事情的零碎片段。加上後來與同行、乘客的對談,漸漸拼湊出詭譎的社會現象,一點一點復原時代氛圍。
The audience’s viewpoint is restricted to the front passenger seat. They can only piece together fragmented bits of a story through the driver’s dialogue, body language, the passing scenery outside the window, and news reports from the radio. As the driver converses with passengers and other drivers, a disturbing social phenomenon gradually comes to light, slowly revealing the atmosphere of the era.
